Sheridan Maine are working with a forward-thinking B2B company that’s scaling fast and now needs an experienced Sales Ledger / Credit Control professional to join their tight-knit finance team.
This is a hands-on role that’s all about ownership, managing the full credit control process, staying on top of aged debt, and keeping the ledger sharp and up to date. You’ll need to be confident chasing payments, juggling priorities, and communicating clearly across the business.
You’ll be working in a busy, fast-paced office, so being proactive, organised, and self-sufficient is key. If you like being in control of your own workload, know your way around Sage and Excel, and thrive in a commercial environment, this one’s for you!

What you’ll be doing:
- Managing aged debt — chasing via phone, email, and formal reminders
- Preparing and issuing invoices, statements, and reminders
- Weekly reporting and internal debt meetings with managers
- Handling account queries and liaising with internal teams to resolve disputes
- Daily bank reconciliations, internal transfers, and supporting trial balance reviews
- Importing invoice schedules, auditing order numbers, and chasing POs
- Maintaining the sales ledger — allocations, updates, and general tidy-up
- Supporting contract invoicing and customer account reviews
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in credit control and sales ledger
- Confident communicator with a calm, professional manner
- Solid Sage and Excel skills
- Able to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and work independently
- Strong attention to detail, good numeracy, and a proactive approach
- Happy rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in
