Job Description

Sheridan Maine is working with a busy, small-office finance team in Bournemouth who are looking for an Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Manager and ensure smooth day-to-day financial operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong grasp of accounting processes who enjoys variety and working as part of a close-knit team.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Process daily customer receipts, direct debits, and invoices
  • Maintain accurate customer and supplier records, including reconciliations
  • Assist with purchase ledger, payment runs, and supplier queries
  • Support month-end management reporting and other finance tasks
  • Manage shared inboxes and handle routine enquiries
  • Ensure all transactions are processed accurately and in line with company procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance Manager and wider team to support ad hoc tasks
 
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in accounts or finance administration, ideally with Sage Line 200
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and account structures
  • Excellent Excel, Word, Outlook, and general IT skills
  • Accurate, organised, and able to manage deadlines in a busy environment
  • Good communicator with a proactive, adaptable approach
