Sheridan Maine is recruiting newly qualified accountants on behalf of a highly regarded and growing accountancy firm in Hertfordshire, which is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join its dynamic team. 
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with practice experience who is eager to develop within a supportive and professional environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. 
  • Assisting with corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Managing bookkeeping tasks and VAT returns. 
  • Supporting audit assignments (where applicable). 
  • Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries. 
  • Supporting senior accountants and managers on ad hoc tasks. 
  • Using cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage. 
 
Requirements: 
  • Part-qualified ACA / ACCA or AAT qualified. 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice. 
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax. 
  • Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience. 
  • Strong IT skills, including cloud-based platforms. 
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude with a desire to learn and progress.
