Sheridan Maine is working in partnership with a well-established and fast-growing advisory and accounting firm based in Northwest London to recruit an experienced Accounts and Tax Director. This is a senior leadership opportunity within a business that prides itself on delivering outstanding client service, fostering long-term partnerships, and taking a progressive, solutions-focused approach to accounting and tax.
 
The firm has built an excellent reputation for its proactive and personalised service, and as part of its continued growth, is now seeking a dynamic and technically strong individual to join its leadership team.
 
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts & Tax Director will be as follows:
  • Oversee the delivery of accounts and tax compliance services to a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to deadlines, and client satisfaction.
  • Review and sign off on statutory financial statements, corporation tax returns, and personal tax filings.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on complex accounting and tax matters, both internally and to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities to add value.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and business development, working closely with the partners to support the firm’s continued success.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the development of junior and mid-level team members.
 
The successful Accounts & Tax Director:
  • Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent), with substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Strong background in both accounts preparation and tax compliance/advisory within a practice environment.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax legislation.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and leading a team.
