As an Associate Director – FP&A, you will take a strategic leadership role in driving financial planning, forecasting, and analysis across the business. Key responsibilities of the Associate Director – FP&A include:
- Define and maintain a clear vision for FP&A excellence, setting high standards for financial insight, accuracy, and business impact.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, delivering forward-looking analysis and recommendations to drive business performance.
- Develop and maintain a structured cadence of financial reporting, forecasting, and performance reviews.
- Lead monthly reporting cycles, ensuring timely, accurate, and insightful updates to key stakeholders.
- Monitor variances and follow up on action plans to drive accountability and influence in-month results.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Provide consistent and proactive financial support to business units, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with finance and operational teams to align planning with strategic objectives.
- Build, maintain, and enhance robust budgeting and forecasting models.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasting exercises, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Identify, track, and influence key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the professional services and accountancy industry.
- Analyse trends and drivers behind financial performance, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FP&A, with a proven track record of delivering impactful financial insights.
- At least 2 years of experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of the accountancy or professional services industry.
- Familiarity with CCH and other practice management systems.
- Proficiency in Power BI and financial data modelling.
- Experience working in a private equity-backed, buy-and-build environment.
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
