Job Description

"Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships."
Michael Jordan.

Sheridan Maine is pleased to be working with a modern and forward-thinking professional services practice to recruit a Business Services Senior Associate (Accounts). Based in a central city office, this role sits within a growing Business Services team and offers a blend of office-based and client-facing responsibilities.

What’s on offer:
  • Exposure to a diverse and interesting client base.
  • A collaborative, people-focused working culture.
  • Ongoing training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
  • A comprehensive benefits and wellbeing package, including additional leave and development initiatives.

The role:
This position focuses on accounts preparation, with time split between year-end statutory accounts and management accounts, alongside the preparation of draft tax computations. Final tax reviews and submissions are completed by a specialist tax team, allowing you to concentrate on delivering accurate, well-prepared accounts.

Your key responsibilities as a Business Services Senior Associate include:
  • Preparing statutory and management accounts within agreed budgets and deadlines.
  • Producing well-organised working papers with minimal review points.
  • Preparing draft tax computations and supporting documentation.
  • Completing VAT returns.
  • Supporting and, where appropriate, supervising junior team members.
  • Managing day-to-day client queries and office-based tasks.
  • Assisting with ad hoc assignments and specialist projects.
  • Contributing to marketing and business development activities.

To be considered for this Business Services Senior Associate position, you will ideally have:
  • An ACA or ACCA qualification with 2 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical ability across full accounts preparation.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional looking to progress their career within a firm that values quality, collaboration, and long-term development.

Apply today or contact Sheridan Maine for more information.

You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
