Job Description

“When your thoughts, words, and deeds form a seamless fabric, you streamline your efforts and thus eliminate worry and dread.”  Epictetus.

We’re looking for a hands-on, client-focused Practice Accountant to join a growing, collaborative accountancy practice. This is a varied role managing your own portfolio of clients, from bookkeeping to statutory accounts and tax, with plenty of opportunity to mentor junior staff and contribute to practice growth.

Key Responsibilities of the Practice Accountant:
  •  Manage a portfolio of clients end-to-end: bookkeeping, VAT, management and statutory accounts, and tax.
  •  Prepare year-end accounts and corporation tax computations.
  •  Communicate confidently with clients, providing clear, practical advice.
  •  Support, guide, and mentor junior team members.
  •  Assist with client onboarding and ensure smooth transitions.
  •  Manage payroll for clients (PAYE, pensions, CIS).
  •  Contribute ideas to help grow and improve the practice.
  •  Collaborate with the team and work from both the office and client sites.
  •  Participate in local networking or business events to raise the practice profile.

To be considered for this Practice Accountant position, you will require:
  •  Fully qualified (AAT / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  •  Minimum 5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
  •  Confident with cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent, etc.).
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  •  Enjoys mentoring junior staff and working collaboratively.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a supportive, collaborative team, take ownership of client work, and further develop their career.  If you’re interested in this position or are keen to hear more, please click on “apply” as soon as possible.

You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.

Due to the high volume of applications, it is not always possible to respond to unsuccessful applicants. Therefore, if we have not responded to your application within five days, please assume that on this occasion your application has not been successful.
